Meeting Thierry

A running blade to move forward

Some meetings remind us why we do all this. Meeting Thierry at his prosthetist Vigo in Wetteren was one of them: he received there the running blade we were able to fund thanks to you.

Thierry had a motorcycle accident. Since then he has undergone many operations, and each one has demanded patience, courage and a solid circle of support. A journey you would wish on no one, and one he goes through with remarkable strength.

Thierry turned to Un pas de plus to find some support. His wish: to get back into sport so he can keep moving forward in daily life, and in particular in his role as a dad. Moving, pushing his limits, being in shape for his family: that is what a running blade could give back to him.

We met at Vigo, his prosthetist, in Wetteren. There, Thierry discovered the Hopper running blade that the association funded for him. The smiles and laughter of that day say more than any speech.

A running blade is much more than a piece of equipment: it is a door opening again.

Un pas de plus

Thierry has taken up adaptive archery: a discipline that demands precision, concentration and perseverance, qualities he already brings to his own recovery. For him, sport is a new playground and a way to regain confidence.

This meeting would not have happened without our donors. Every euro donated turns into equipment, smiles and movement. Thank you also to the Vigo team for their welcome.

Thierry is one of the first people to receive a blade through the association, and we hope he will not be the last. To understand why this kind of equipment matters so much, read the story of our first running blades.

You too can help us take one more step: a donation, even a modest one, directly funds adapted equipment and support.
